Dutch translation service

We translate over 80 language combinations including Dutch to English and English to Dutch. English to Dutch translations are among our most commonly requested language services. Our Dutch translation service is engaged by Government agencies, businesses and individuals across Australia and worldwide.

Dutch is spoken by over 23 million native speakers and over 5 million as a second language.

Over 300,000 Australians are of Dutch origin. According to the Dutch Central Bureau for Statistics, approximately 14,000 Australians live in the Netherlands, including those with dual-citizenship.

Dutch is the official language of the Netherlands. The official Dutch dialect used for mass communication and by the Netherlands authorities is referred to as Standard Dutch.

The Dutch dialects spoken in Belgium are collectively known as Flemish (Vlaams). Flemish dialects differ from the Dutch spoken in the Netherlands in terms of pronunciation, and there are also some minor differences in vocabulary.

We have at your disposal a team of highly experienced Dutch translators. We offer a comprehensive Dutch translation service covering a variety of specialist fields including scientific, technical, legal, commercial/promotional, etc.

Our Dutch translators are located both in Australia and overseas. We assign projects to Dutch translators according to key factors such as translator accreditation, area of expertise and the translator’s country of residence, which is particularly important for commercial/promotional translations. We ensure that a Dutch translation will read as well as, or even better than, the source document by carefully assigning the most appropriate Dutch translator for the project; fluency in the latest cultural and business terminology for your target audience is essential. Our Dutch translators hold current membership of organizations associations such as AUSIT. For translations requiring certification within Australia, we utilize translators credentialed by NAATI. Furthermore, all of our Dutch translations undergo proofreading to ensure accuracy.

Dutch to English and English to Dutch typesetting considerations

When translating from one language to another, the amount of text will either increase or decrease. Dutch to English translation often results in a 15% increase in text. English to Dutch translation will decrease the amount of text by approximately 10-15%. This is of course a general rule, but should be factored in when preparing copy that is to be typeset following translation. There are no other significant typesetting considerations to be made when preparing copy for translation from Dutch to English or English to Dutch.
