What is the difference between translation and interpreting?
Translators are concerned with the
written word. They render written text or recorded verbal
matter from one language to another. Translators specialise in
particular types of subject matter, e.g. law, health, science/technology.
Translators undertake assignments which range from simple items,
such as birth certificates, to more complex written material,
such as publications in specialist professional journals.
Interpreters are concerned with the spoken word. They render
information and ideas from one language into another. Interpreters
are frequently required to work in both language directions, in
health, legal, welfare and commerce situations. Conference interpreters
are more commonly required to work in one language direction only
– usually into their first language.

How much do you charge for translations and how do I pay?
Translation charges are based on the
number of words in the original document (source words)
to be translated. The rate depends on the complexity of the text.
Simple personal documents are charged at a flat rate. Interpreting
fees are based on an hourly rate. Please either contact us by
telephone, email a sample to us or use the enquiry form to the
left hand side of this page for a free quote. You will receive
a reply to your pricing request within 2-3 hours of receipt of
your enquiry (during business hours). We accept payment by credit
card (Master Card, Visa and Amex), bank transfer or cheque.

How long will it take to translate my document?
Translation turnaround is 2-3 days
for most small jobs. Jobs can be processed faster, if
required. For longer jobs we provide a bespoke turnaround time
as part of our quote.

How can I deliver my document to you and how will I receive
it back?
You can deliver your document by email,
fax or post. Within the agreed turnaround time, we will
email or fax the translated document to you for review. A final
draft is then provided in electronic and/or hardcopy formats,
as required.

Why pay a translation service when I can get a free online translation?
Be wary of machine-based translations
and free website translation software. Invariably, your message
will not be conveyed to your audience as you intended, because
grammatical errors and typos occur frequently with automated translation
software.

How do I know if my translation is accurate?
Unless you are either a translator
or you have the translation independently proofread, you will
not know for sure. We only employ professionally accredited translators,
with a proven track record within the industry.
If you have any questions regarding our service,
you are welcome to send us an email or call us on 1300 308 983.
